Peter Pan  - Milton Keynes Theatre5th December 2014 - 11th January 2015

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...I love this time of year– it's about all the little details that you want to get just right.

The good and the bad go hand in hand - decorating the tree and seeing it light up for the first time, struggling through the hordes of crowds in the shops to buy those gifts for your loved ones…and never being able to find the end of the sellotape!

It’s all about bad jokes, plenty of pigs in blankets and spending time with the family - however nothing says Christmas quite like an age old traditional pantomime.

Peter Pan has flown into Milton Keynes Theatre and brought the much loved TV star Bradley Walsh with him!

When it was announced that “Bradley was back” it brought mixed reviews.  The idea of bringing someone back again to do panto is not a new idea, however can be a bit risky as people have seen them before and might favour being entertained by a new celebrity.

But the doubting Thomas’s have been proved wrong – Bradley is BACK and he’s back with a MASSIVE BANG!!

From the moment he walked on the stage it was the Bradley Walsh Show…he was his sarcastic, quick witted self.  He had the audience in stitches, the lady sat next to me was actually crying with laughter.  He’s one liners are timed to perfection and the audience interaction was hilarious.

I’m glad to say that he isn't the only great thing to be on the stage in this fantastic production of Peter Pan.

Tinker Bell is the funniest fairy I've ever seen…Francesca Mills was absolutely brilliant.  Mills roller skated, flew and handed out huge helpings of attitude every time she was on stage.

The rest of the cast and pirate crew do more than hold their own.

Dance sensation “Flawless” are excellent, they are so energetic, technically brilliant and make for great entertainment.  There is an amazing routine in suits that are lit while we are sat in the dark – the effect is mesmerizing.

David Bedella as Captain Hook looked more like the pop artist from the 80’s called Prince – he didn't really do enough to make the menacing character that terrorises Peter Pan come to life.  One thing though…he can definitely bust some moves!

There’s lots of aerial work as you’d expect and Peter (George Ure) was quite impressive, Ure made it look so easy being suspended on wires flying across that stage whilst brandishing his sword during his fight scenes with Hook.

Wendy (Victoria Tyrell) was a cutey in her role and her vocals were spot on.

All in all Peter Pan is a great family panto, packed with loads of fun but it’s Bradley that steals the show.  Throughout he’s comedic timing was faultless.  I won’t spoil the jokes by telling you – you will need to buy a ticket and go along to see it for yourselves!

I guarantee you will be laughing and the kids will be wowed too.  Peter Pan is a great all round, family fun-filled festive production.

With fantastic sparkling sets, well known music and bags of energy, you won’t be able to resist saying “it’s behind you” when the enormous ticking crocodile trundles onto the stage! (oh no I won't..oh yes you will!)

It’s brilliant fun, I loved it from start to finish – don’t miss this, it’s a Christmas must see!
